Photo documentation from some classes I've taught. For older learners, many haven't created art since they were children and are enjoying the process. I work with all ages and our focus is on the development of interest in varied art media and enjoying the actions of making.
Students made their own fidget spinners out of wood and cardboard
Student lead class based on finger crocheting. We had several different ways students could crochet: from finger crocheting, crocheting, twisting yarn and braiding.
Having an art space with no restrictions allows students to express their feelings and thoughts
I based this class on a student who loves to finger crochet and showed the entire class how to do this. We made a class lesson based on yarn crocheting and yarn installations
After school art program was funded by an Art grant at The Quaint Corner Children's museum
Based on Vik Muniz's art piece we began to explore ideas for our teaching assignment.

Showing classmates how to use an art tool, an iron, to collage their fabric pieces.
Many adult learners often find, once they start to paint/create, they could do more then they realized. This is truly what I appreciate from this experience as a teacher.
Many adult learners have not painted since childhood. It is a big change for them and often worry about the outcome. We encourage them on basics and allow them to express themselves.
Students agreed to paint a similar themed painting and then explore what they want in the work
Students in my class were taught to use various fabric, glue and tools to create an upcycled art piece.
Each student is given some instruction and allowed to use their imagination as they create their works
Students are given minor instruction and are allowed to paint as they want
